tonic

The main sound is the first sound in the seventh note scale. It has a great influence as important sound over the whole music. So the end of the song usually ends in a tonic. Also, there are many songs that start with a main note. Key is the key that controls that song. To finalize the key, you need a main chord, a genus chord, and another chord. Normally you will use subordinate chords, but if you have other functions similar to subdominant you can also determine the key. The main chord is the chord created on the main note. A chord that can be made with three notes by overlapping every other component sound of the scale. For major and minor, only the third note is different.

In harmony studies, the function of the main chord is called tonic.
