andante
Speed indicator. With walking speed. It is faster than adagio and slower than allegretto, but its speed is not strict. It's not too fast, not too late It's only a polished sense to decide the tempo that fits that music. There is andantino as a derivative word.
For example ... allegro → rit. (Get late) → Return to original tempo (allegro) with a tempo. The difference from tempo I (tempo primo) is that a tempo is used for temporary changes, but tempo I returns to the first tempo of the song. In tempo I case allegro (fast music) → andante (to be late music) → Return to the first tempo (allegro) with tempo I.
