divisi

It means to divide one voice part into two parts. If you are playing one voice part, such as a string instrument in an orchestra, in multiplayer, players are divided into 1/2, 1/3 and others to play a few voices. As the number of people in each voice part decreases, the volume of each voice part falls but complicated music can be represented as much. Often abbreviated as div. When it was originally a multi-voice part played with Unison as an instruction such as a2 and when returning to the original voice number again, divisi is instructed.

The difference in the softness of the tone depends on the manner of pronunciation, but in most cases it can be said to be the difference of overtones included in the sound. However, depending on players and musical instruments, people with higher harmonics are divided into those who feel "soft" and people who feel less harmonized as "soft". Also the balance between higher order harmonic and lower order harmonic influences.

Often abbreviated as marc.

In many cases, it is interpreted as a Marquardt for notes for which other articulation symbols are not written because there is no symbol.

In fact there are many cases where notes with nothing written are marked as Marcato. In some cases it is sometimes interpreted as Tenut, but how to play depends on the sense of the player.

Specifically, it is common to play as shown in the following figure.

図‐演奏方法

The horizontal axis of blue figure is time and the vertical axis is volume.

Basically the length of the sound is the same as Tenut, but the volume decays. When the length becomes shorter, the difference with Staccato disappears, and if the volume does not change, the difference with Tenut loses.

In keyboard instruments, we must devise expressive methods.
